Basix bible studies

A short series of bible studies looking at the basics of the Christian faith. Six Thursday evenings giving opportunity to ask questions and discuss important issues.

Sunday Worship

Our morning worship is at 10:30 am. Children stay with us for the first part of the service and then leave for their own Sunday Club. Bible teaching is from the book of Romans and is clear and practical, helping us to understand the Christian life and God's way of salvation through Jesus Christ. Services are usually followed by refreshments (except on communion Sundays). Our evening worship is at 6:30 pm. and we are studying the book of Revelation.

We sing modern songs and traditional hymns, believing that it is the truth contained in them that is important rather than when they were written or who wrote them.

We read publicly from the New International Version, however people are free to follow in the version which suits them best. We believe that it is important that people are able to read and understand the Bible in a familiar form of language.

Midweek Bible studies

These take place on Wednesday evenings at 7:45 pm. The current topic of study is the prophecy of Jeremiah which is proving powerfully relevant to the times in which we now live. The format is discussional and gives opportunity for questions and sharing of knowledge and personal experience.

For retired and older people

The second Thursday of each month at 3:00 pm sees our 'Open afternoon' for retired people. An informal time of fellowship with an invited speaker sharing some aspect of their personal experience of Christian life or their work with a Christian organisation.

Tollgate Lunch Club

Monthly on a Friday lunch time at 12:30 pm, join us for a three course cooked lunch, good company and fellowship. Occasionally the lunch is followed by a film or invited speaker.

Youth and children's work

Our monthly 'Ten-Ups' group for children aged 10 and up involves lively games and group bible study.

Also monthly is our Umpteens group for older teens and young people including Quiz nights, adventurous activities and thought provoking talks.

Sunday mornings, children have their own Sunday Club involving age-appropriate Bible teaching, singing, quizzes and crafts. There is a creche for the very young.

Families

Usually the fourth Sunday morning of each month is set aside as a time of family worship. Young and old stay together to worship and learn form the Bible. A creche is provided for the very young.

Gaters Toddler Group is a popular group for parents and toddlers. As well as free play, there is time for singing, Bible stories and crafts for the children.
